Charmed!
Charmed! is a 3rd person hack and slash game. It follows the character Felicity and her journey to reclaim charms for her charm bracelet and stop the Harms from reeking havoc. It is for the capstone of UCF’s Digital Media Game design major. The team was 9 people and the project spanned 2 semesters.
Environment Art
My contribution was environment art. I was the sole environment artist on the team. For this, some of my work is untextured, but the experience of making a breadth of models in a limited time was a great exercise and challenge.
Modular Assets
A big part of my role was making modular city environments that could span over a couple of levels and add variation to an otherwise monotonous world. I made 7 modular kits, 1 road, and 6 buildings for the level designers to use. Below is the gallery with the layout of the pieces then the assembled building.
Props
With building pieces, I also created props for the world. It was really exciting as I got to make a variety of items utilizing both hard surface and organic modeling techniques. Making the props was a bit challenging as I had to keep polycount in mind. The world feels a lot more lived in and intentional with the use of these props.
